"In The Bottle Garden" is Freelove Fenner's debut mini-album. Since their 2007 7'' split with Valleys, the group have been working away on this latest batch of taut psychedelic pop.
Mysterious craftspeople of Montreal basements, Freelove Fenner rarely compromise. Their gear is heavy and their recording processes painstaking. Succinct pop numbers contain surprisingly deep wells for a listener to fall into, not to mention melodies until next week.

This is their most sophisticated album yet. In places where they used to go loud, they now go lush, adding warm organ. Nicole's vocals are the prettiest they've ever been. She has always been a great guitarist but now has more solos, including some unexpected jazz riffs. As usual, there is a variety of styles on the LP from the gentle "Famous Last Words" to the grungy "Contenders". Art Fin
